PT Menthobi Karyatama Raya Tbk manages oil palm plantations through its subsidiary, PT Menthobi Makmur Lestari (MMAL). The plantation is located in Central Kalimantan, covering approximately 6,000 hectares of land. The cultivated oil palm varieties are superior strains capable of producing high-quality Fresh Fruit Bunches (FFB) with sustainable productivity.
MKTR follows a systematic and efficient oil palm cultivation process:
Nursery: Conducted under strict supervision to produce high-quality oil palm seedlings.
Planting and Maintenance: Involves planned fertilization, irrigation, pest control, and the application of sustainable agricultural techniques.
Harvesting FFB (Fresh Fruit Bunches): FFB is harvested periodically when ripe and immediately transported to the mill for processing into crude palm oil (CPO).
Fresh fruit bunches (FFB) from the oil palm trees are processed at MKTR’s palm oil mill, which has a capacity of 30 tons/hour. This process yields:
Crude Palm Oil (CPO): The main product from oil palm fruit extraction.
Palm Kernel: Used to produce palm kernel oil (PKO).
Palm Waste: Such as empty bunches and sludge, which are utilized as fertilizer and energy sources.
MKTR emphasizes environmentally friendly waste management, particularly for oil palm waste:
EFB (Empty Fruit Bunches): Processed into biomass pellets by its subsidiary, PT Menthobi Hijau Lestari (MHL), as a source of renewable energy.
Once the oil palm trees start producing, heavy equipment supports the FFB transportation process:
Transport Trucks (Dumpers or Dump Trucks): Used to carry FFB from the plantation to the processing mill.
Mini Tractors or Wheel Loaders: Used to load FFB onto trucks and manage fruit piles at collection points.
Prime Movers and Trailers: Used to transport CPO (crude palm oil) from the mill to the port or other distribution locations through their logistics subsidiary, PT Menthobi Transtitian Raya (MTR).
To support efficient oil palm plantation maintenance:
Boom Sprayers: Tractors equipped with tanks and sprayers for large-scale spraying of liquid fertilizer or pesticides.
Backhoe Loaders: Assist with trench cleaning, hole digging, and plantation infrastructure maintenance such as estate roads.
