PT Menthobi Karyatama Raya Tbk (MKTR) demonstrates a strong commitment to the development of renewable energy through the utilization of palm oil industry waste. Here are some of the main initiatives that have been carried out:
Through its subsidiary, PT Menthobi Hijau Lestari (MHL), MKTR built a biomass plant that processes oil palm Empty Fruit Bunch (EFB) into biomass pellets (EFB Pellets). The plant has a production capacity of 10 tons per hour and is scheduled to start commercial operations in the fourth quarter of 2025. This initiative aims to convert palm oil waste into an efficient and environmentally friendly green energy source.
In addition to biomass, MHL has also developed granular and liquid organic fertilizer products under the brand name GreenGrow. This product is made from empty palm oil basket waste and aims to improve soil fertility and crop productivity, supporting sustainable agricultural practices in Indonesia.
Since November 2024, MHL has been conducting trial production of EFB Pellets with small-scale facilities to ensure the product meets industry standards. The trial results showed performance that exceeded initial expectations, confirming the great potential of EFB Pellets as a renewable energy source.
Through these initiatives, MKTR not only reduces the environmental impact of palm oil industry waste but also creates economic added value and supports the national green energy transition.
