Accordingly, the Company continues to integrate sustainability principles across its plantation, processing, and downstream activities, with a focus on improving energy and water efficiency, optimizing resource utilization, and implementing environmentally responsible operational practices. This approach supports the Company’s long-term ambition to develop an integrated, efficient, and resilient business ecosystem that creates sustainable value.

These efforts are implemented through a range of interconnected initiatives. In energy management, MKTR continues to improve energy efficiency while expanding the utilization of renewable energy sources derived from palm oil by-products. In water management, the Company applies an integrated approach to water conservation and management to maintain the availability and quality of water resources. Meanwhile, waste management is guided by the principles of reduce, reuse, and recycle, with palm oil by-products being further utilized to create additional value, including the conversion of Empty Fruit Bunches (EFB) into organic fertilizer and EFB Pellets, as well as the utilization of Palm Oil Mill Effluent (POME) for biogas production.

Alongside these initiatives, MKTR continues to strengthen its efforts to prevent environmental pollution and manage operational impacts through emissions monitoring, responsible management of hazardous and non-hazardous waste, and the implementation of responsible plantation management practices.
