MKTR strives to meet a number of nationally and internationally recognized sustainability standards and certifications. Six of our plantations are Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) certified.

In 2011, MKTR's Belitung subsidiary received its first Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) certification. PT Menthobi Karyatama Raya (MKTR) was RSPO certified in November 2012 and PT Austindo Nusantara Jaya Siais (MKTR) was RSPO certified in September 2014, and in 2019, PT Menthobi Karyatama Raya (MKTR) was RSPO certified. By 2021, MKTR's subsidiaries located in West Papua, PT Menthobi Karyatama Raya (MKTR) and PT Menthobi Karyatama Raya (MKTR), will be RSPO certified.

All our palm oil products are processed in accordance with sustainability standards guided by RSPO principles and criteria. We aim to certify all plasma and partnership programs under our plantations by the end of 2027. As of December 2023, seven cooperatives and one village-owned enterprise (BUMDes) of our partners in SMM, three plasma cooperatives in KAL and one cooperative in MKTR are RSPO certified. While we saw progress of 75% last year, 2023 marks the completion of our RSPO plasma certification project on Belitung Island, which means 86% of the 14 plasma cooperatives and partnerships are RSPO certified.
