Indonesia's Palm Oil Industry Poised for Growth, MKTR Targets Rp1.390 Trillion in Revenue for 2026

JAKARTA – PT Menthobi Karyatama Raya Tbk (MKTR) reported higher production and sales during the first quarter of 2026, reinforcing its confidence that Indonesia's palm oil industry will continue to expand throughout the year.

The company, which adopts best agricultural practices and integrates sustainability into its operations, recorded a 15.30% increase in crude palm oil (CPO) production, reaching 18,588 metric tons in the first quarter of 2026, up from 16,121 metric tons in the same period last year.

Production of palm kernel (PK) also rose 13.10%, while crude palm kernel oil (CPKO) output increased to 1,619 metric tons from 1,536 metric tons, and palm kernel oil (PKO) production climbed from 1,746 metric tons to 1,897 metric tons.

Driven by stronger production performance, MKTR posted first-quarter revenue of Rp322.801 billion, representing a 20.25% year-on-year increase from Rp267.674 billion in the corresponding period of 2025.

Profit before income tax rose 35.6% to Rp15.018 billion, compared with Rp11.069 billion a year earlier. Net profit increased 40.88% year-on-year to Rp8.733 billion, up from Rp6.199 billion in the first quarter of 2025.

"We remain optimistic that Indonesia's palm oil industry will sustain its positive growth trajectory throughout 2026. The Company will continue to execute its established strategy, focusing on asset optimization, expanding production capacity, and creating added value through various green industry-based innovations," said Wawan Sulistyawan, MKTR's Director of Finance & Investment, during the company's 2026 Public Expose on June 10.

Despite its positive outlook, MKTR said it continues to implement risk mitigation measures to address potential industry challenges this year, including economic volatility stemming from global geopolitical developments, climate-related risks such as the potential onset of El Niño in the second half of the year, and other operational challenges.

For 2026, MKTR targets the processing of 336,400 metric tons of fresh fruit bunches (FFB), with projected production of 73,292 metric tons of CPO and 15,031 metric tons of palm kernel. The Company expects full-year revenue to reach Rp1.390 trillion.

As part of its environmentally driven innovation strategy, MKTR has developed GreenGrow, an organic fertilizer produced from empty fruit bunches (EFB), a by-product of the palm oil production process. As one of the pioneers in producing organic fertilizer from palm oil by-products, the Company plans to further enhance GreenGrow's quality and production capacity to support Indonesia's food security agenda.
